Scrub Out ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights around your data.

Scrub Out is designed for veterinary professionals as a private space for emotional reflection and wellbeing. We take the sensitivity of this seriously. Your reflections are yours alone.

Information you provide directly:

• Email address (when you create an account)
• Reflection entries (text you write in response to cards)
• Mood selections (emoji check-ins after your shift)
• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe, we never see your card details)

Information collected automatically:

• App usage data (which paths and cards you use)
• Session activity (last active time, last card viewed)
• Device type and browser (for PWA functionality)

What we do NOT collect:

• Your name (unless you provide it)
• Location data
• Employer or workplace information
• Any sensitive professional or clinical data

• To provide and personalise the Scrub Out experience
• To save your reflections and make them available in My Cards
• To show you mood patterns and insights over time
• To manage your account and subscription
• To send transactional emails (payment receipts, account notices)
• To improve the app based on usage patterns

We do not use your reflection content for any purpose other than displaying it back to you. We do not read, analyse, or share your personal reflections.

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, a cloud database provider with enterprise-grade security. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest.

Payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment processor. We never store your credit card details.

Your reflection entries are private to your account. No one at Scrub Out can read your personal reflections except you.

We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal information with third parties except:

• Supabase, database storage (your data lives here)
• Stripe, payment processing
• Vercel, app hosting

These are infrastructure providers only. They do not have access to your reflection content and do not use your data for their own purposes.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is deleted within 30 days.

Mood logs and reflection entries can be deleted by contacting us at hello@scrubout.co at any time.

You have the right to:

• Access, request a copy of all data we hold about you
• Correction, ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Deletion, request your account and all data be deleted
• Portability, request your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent, stop using the app and request deletion at any time

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@scrubout.co. We will respond within 30 days.

Scrub Out operates from Canada and complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

If you believe we have not handled your data appropriately, you have the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

We use browser local storage (not traditional cookies) to remember your session, specifically your last active time and last card viewed. This is used only to resume your session where you left off.

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels of any kind.

Scrub Out is designed for adult veterinary professionals. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, please contact us at hello@scrubout.co.

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by a notice in the app. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update.
